Torn

If you could have anything in the world you heart desires - one thing, what would it be? Think about it long enough and you'll probably become torn between two or more ideas. Most of us find ourselves torn between what we really want at any given time. But God doesn't. He's always wanted one thing... and he was torn for it.

Real Change

When things get tough, people demand change. Today, we stand on the brink of some of the greatest changes in the last 70 years.
Outflow Week 5

The paradox of abundant living... the more you give away, the more you have. This is how it is in the Kingdom of God. Jesus has more love for us than we can even imagine, but to experience it, we must give it away.

Outflow Week 3

The call to love like Jesus is particularly challenging once we leave the familiar surroundings of our own Judea and the people who look, think and act like us - towards those who don't. Yet Jesus send us to show and tell about God's great love to everyone, even those who we would never normally hang out with. His love in us really does empower us to love and care in ways that make life incredibly exciting.

Outflow Week 2

We can't give away anything we don't have. That's why getting our understanding and relationship with God is so incredibly important. To the degree that we possess a deep understanding of God's unconditional love for us - is the degree that we're able to give it away to others. Today, we look at how God really loves us and how much He wants to be found by us.

In Dependence

We love our independence. It means control and power for us. Who doesn't like having control and being in power? Yet the scriptures teach us that while Jesus was the most powerful person to ever walk the earth, he did not revel in his power or pursue it. In fact, He lowered Himself from the glory and power he shared with the Father and came to earth as a servant. He simply submitted himself to God the Father in loving obedience to Him. In that, He modeled for us what life in the Kingdom of God is to be like. Humble, submitted, loving and obedient to God. From this relationship, God can demonstrate His power, as we live in dependence on Him.

What Do You Want?

We’re all disabled to a degree. Everyone of has fears and insecurities and illnesses, whether, physical, mental, spiritual or all of the above. After a while, we may even begin to see our brokenness as simply who we are. This is how we relate to the world. This is the best it’s going to be. And Jesus says no. I have more.
Who's Counting?

Today we rarely seem to talk about sin. It's the new four letter word both in and outside the church. Yet the Bible is clear that sin is or was our biggest problem as human beings created in God's image. God cannot tolerate it. Yet His love is so immense for us, that he stepped into the middle of time as a human being Himself, and paid the price for our rebellion. Now, He no longer counts our sins against us. Do we understand how huge that is and what that means for us?

Power Tools

Power tools enable us to do exponentially more than we can in our own strength. And they're fun to use! The bigger and tougher the job, the more we need power tools. As disciples of Jesus Christ, we have been given the ministry of Jesus. We are his hands and feet. To accomplish his work, we need more than our own skills and abilities. We need His. Fortunately, God desires to give us His power to do the work of Jesus. Listen as we learn a little about God's power tools.

Naturally Supernatural

Most of us are familiar with the old game of "Tag" from our elementary school days. We understand that once you've been tagged - you're "it" and it's up to you to tag others. Jesus Christ has "tagged" his church and given us the job of continuing His ministry on the earth. It's a tall order to fill. Most days, we hardly feel able to make it through a full day of getting our own things done, much less the ministry of Jesus! But Jesus hasn't left us alone to accomplish His work. He provides supernatural resources for those who trust and obey Him. He invites all of to be "naturally supernatural" people, as we follow Him.

More Than Enough

Benjamin Franklin when once asked about what he was certain of in life replied, “Certainty? “In this world, nothing is certain is certain but death and taxes.” I would add a third thing… the affect of the economy on all living people. We are all feeling the pinch of the continued rise in oil prices. For many of us, any extra money we may have counted on at the end of the month is now being eaten up by the rising price of everything. Combine that with recent reports that things may get worse whether the U.S. goes to war with Iran or not, and unbiblical fear may set in as we contemplate how we will adjust. The world's economy is subject to rules and resources of this present age. That's plain to see. But the Bible really does teach of a different economy in the kingdom of God, whether we understand it or not. Question is, which economy are we trusting in and how will it affect the way we live?

What do you want to be when you grow up? perhaps one of the most important questions of our lives. Our entire experience of life hangs on the answer to this question - or so it seems. As Americans, we tend to find our identity in our work and what we do for a living. But is that what work is for? Does the Bible have anything to say about work? Why work? Listen and see if God has another purpose that may be more fulfilling than we realize.

Overcoming Shame

The world is a tough place. Tougher than we realize sometimes. One of the things it tends to throw at us is a constant barrage of the question, "are you good enough?" Sometimes the answer is yes, other times no. This can lead to an underlying battle with shame, whether we realize it or not. Jesus knew the shame that the world throws at us. He also shows us how to deal with it so we can live victoriously.

Remember to Live

The people of Israel were about to move out of the desert and into a land that lacked nothing, according to the Moses. The only thing that could spoil it all for them was if they forgot the Lord in the process. Things are the same today as they were then. No matter what we possess or what our surroundings look like, life is pretty empty without the presence of God in the midst of it all. It's easy to forget the Lord when our hearts and minds are captured by our wealth. Listen as we look at one way we can help ensure that we remember the Lord and in so doing, remember to truly live.

What Are You Waiting For?

No one likes to wait. Especially for things we really need or think we really want. Fortunately, in our culture, we don't have to wait too long for most things. As a result, we are addicted to instant gratification. Our expectations are high... higher than we think. Unfortunately, this has a negative affect on our experience with prayer, because often times, God's answer to us is... wait. However, if we become the kind of people who learn to actively wait on God, we will discover riches beyond our expectations as well.

Understanding Prayer

When it comes to faith, there's no more critical ingredient than prayer. When our prayers are answered, we are elated and our faith grows. When they don’t seem to be answered, especially after many prayers, our faith can waiver to the point of losing faith all together. What should we expect from prayer? How does God answer prayer?

Everyone has things in their lives that keep them from being all they could be. Sometimes we need more than our own skill and experience to overcome those things. We need power. The kind of power that comes from God. Jesus said this kind of power only comes through prayer.
The tower of Babel. Pride comes before the fall. We think that somehow we can craft a life that is better without God. When we seek to make a name for ourselves, we are left with nothing of God. Bringing man back to the way we were made by the name of Jesus (Acts 2:1-13). We are at our best when we are a reflection of Jesus!

Heaven On Earth

This message begins our journey through the Old Testament as we discover God's passion for restoring heaven to earth. In this message we see that heaven is where God is and God created absolute perfection on the earth and in the garden of Eden. We were made to rule the earth, living a life of shameless pleasure in bodies that never wear out or die. It's heaven on earth.
